I first came into contact with this group about a month ago, and unfortunately have received nothing but hatred from them in reply to my requests for information on the subject.
Here are the important bits from their site that you need to know
About the team:
Erwin Alber, medical practitioner? immunologist? no, Erwin has absolutely no qualifications to do with infectious disease and seems to be proud of this fact.. because it makes 'him' and expert! go figure that logic!
Erwin is a man who seems to support every conspiracy theory going from 'all planes are secretrly spraying chemicals' to 'the illuminati ruling the world'.
On May 16th 2009 Erwin stated: "I do not want to be regarded as an authority".. but then crucifies anyone opposed to his view because HE IS RIGHT... END OF CONVERSATION!! (this is an untrained man who reads blogs and watches youTube)
Erwin has four assistants who help write run his page, Amara, Sandy, Joanna, and another who does not seem to leave a name.. these individuals are the main protagonists who spout hate and rudeness at anyone who even dares question their material, although there is absolutely no information on the site at all to describe their backgrounds, like Erwin, these individuals are probably unqualified blog readers.
VINE's evidence that vaccines are bad:
Here is one of their main citations of evidence:
Yes, that's correct.. their main evidence 'which tells the story of the truth' is pictures with slogans. definitive? not really, accurate? who knows, trustworthy? not a chance!
Other than their 'photographic evidence', VINE's other two main forms of evidence come in the form of YouTube videos, and blogs. no scientific peer reviewed sources.. youTube. and blogs.
Although I have on several occasions tried to explain that anyone can make a photo, anyone can make a video, and anyone can create a blog (yes, this is a blog... but i welcome question, debate and reasoned argument. I also provide actual evidence to support the information which i provide), unfortunately, they do not see this and continue to see opinion and theory as proof.
VINE do however provide some links that are not blogs or youTube videos, here is a (not so small) list of their favourites and a description of the link's background:
[EDIT: 03 Nov 2012 20:40 GMT] I accidentally forgot one of the main sources VINE use for evidence...
AgeOfAutism.com: A 'web newspaper' detailing the autism epidemic run by Dan Olmstead. They believe that every single disease is man made. Dan Olmstead was seniour editor for United Predd International, and regularly writes for the Washington Times.. both owned and run by the Unification Church. The Unification Church have been strong advocaters of Presidents Richard Nixon during the Watergate scandal, And George Bush Jr during the war on terror. The Unification church actively support and fund the pertrochemical industry, the soft drink giants, run medical tourism activity, and are heavily involved in the production of cancer treatments and vaccines.
[END OF EDIT: 20:59 GMT]
NaturalNews.com: an 'independant health website' which offers confirmation of almost every health scare that has ever been invented. currently ranked 2,129 by Alexa internet traffic ranking, focusing solely on negative press, naturalnews do not appear to publish any articles at all that are positive. the creator, Mike Adams also owns Truth Publishing International ltd. and Arial Software, a marketing company which has large corporations within it's client base.
VaccinationCouncil.org: refers you to the International Medical Council on Vaccination or that is what you are lead to believe. Infact, there is no official International Medical Council on Vaccination, it is simply a wordpress blog run by supporters of the antivaccine movement. Although not an officially recognised company, nor institute.. they list Mayer Eisenstein, M.D., Suzanne Humphries, MD. and Sherri Tenpenny, DO as their board of directors. These individuals are discussed later on in detail.
MasterNewMedia.org: This is an unusual site, not actually anything to do with health or vaccines. Ranked around 21,000 on Alexa, this site is actually a technology site run by Robin Good, focusing mainly on web strategies, marketing and new hardware/software. There are occasional articles published by others which do not fit into the scope of this site, but it is unclear if these articles are vetted before (or after) listing.
Cease-Autism.com / Cease-Therapy.com: Is the personal website of Dr. Tinus Smits (Dec'd)-(a regular favourite of VINE) who is the self-proclaimed curer of autism. Dr. Smits was a long standing supporter of the antivaccine movement, and was a homeopathic doctor. Unfortunately, there is absolutely no information available on Dr Smits before he began his CEASE programme, and no records at all of him ever recieving a medical degree, or practising as a qualified doctor.
AmericanChronicle.com: is a purported news agency run by Ultio LLC. Ranked 72,000 by Alexia, AmericanChrinocle is however, basically an open blog in which anyone can create an author account and publish articles to 'Gain exposure and establish yourself as an expert in your field' as they put it. there does not appear to be any vetting process, or any review prior to publishing.
Whale.to: There are literally hundreds of links to Whale.to on VINE! Whale is a MASSIVE conspiracy website.. if someone has thought of it, the chances are it's there! everything from Aspartame to Satan and beyond! It is considered by all as an unreliable dumping-ground for any unscientific or unrealistic material. run by a Hertfordshire (UK) based pig farmer (John Scudamore), anyone can submit to whale.to just by emailing the owner!
conspiracyresearch.org: No longer exists!
HealthWyze.org: A blog on alternative treatments for disease with a religious base, run by Sarah Cain (who although appears to write what she believes to be true using religious faith, has no training at all related to medicine) and Thomas Corriher (an Electrical Engineer... no qualifications at all to do with health!)
here are the search engine keywords they use to get their website noticed:
'Healthcare, religion, christian, alternative medicine, religious, christianity, nwo, credible, home remedies, credibility'Notice they mention religion a few times, and have to actually insist that they are credible! (i'm going to ignore the new world order part)
realityzone: another conspiracy website run by G. Edward Griffin, a seemingly unstoppable writer and documentary writer who has revealed everything from the true location of the launching point of Noah's ark to his identification that 'cancer is a metabolic disease'. Of course, Griffin is neither a historian nor a medical professional. He has done a lot of work, so if you want to know more on this character, please read the Wikipedia entry on him as there is too much to even try and put in here!
VacTruth.com: Another wordpress blog, this time by (another untrained 'professional') Jeffry John Aufderheide. Unfortunately, other than running a blog, this guy does not seem to have a past... infact, he has virtuallyno identity at all!
VaccineInjury.info: Not a blog this time, but an actual website run by homeopath; Andreas Bachmair. This website features lots of homeopathic articles and reports on vaccine injured individuals... although these are all non-medical submitted by individuals and families.. none are medically trained.. just as Andreas Bauchmair is not trained to accurately diagnose the conditions he describes.
AutismIsReversible.info: another wordpress blog (see where i'm going with this?) authored by Larry Cook. This website offers a collection of YouTube videos. Larry is an author with no medical background.
VaccineRiskAwareness.com: a website by Joanna Karpasea-Jones. This website claims 'We do not give medical advice as we are not GP's. We merely provide information and research studies surrounding vaccination to enable parents to make a fully informed decision.' Sounds good, however, there is no positive information on this site... at all! This woman has a string of medical-based articles as long as your arm, and yet she has no relevant qualifications to support her writing. She does list some official sources as references... but only when they are bad, or open letters to the editor.
HealthTruthRevealed.com: Now re-named to 247WeReport. Run by Gregory Ciola, HealthTruthRevealed is a heavily religious site with more than just a hint of new world order belief to it. they also sell 'health' products like Chromium (a carcinogen used in commercial dye and varnishes). They actually seem to be quite invested in the use of toxic metals to cure diseases! Again, lots of scare stories.. but nothing offered to back it up.
TheDoctorWithin.com: Run by Tim O'Shea DC considered by all antivaccine advocates to be 'an expert in his field'.. that may be so, his area of expertise is Chirpody... yes, he is an expert in feet! Not holistic healthcare! and NOT VACCINATION!
VaccineLiberationArmy.com: Is a blog-style site run by Eileen Dannemann. This website is basically just a buch of YouTube videos with nothing to support them. Dannemann has no medical training, but she does practise Transcendental Meditation (it's a really weird practice.. I personally know someone who does that.. and they think they're from another planet! seriously!). Dannemann is a serial activist fighting for anything and everything.
DeceptionUSA.com: A website to promote a video which claims that the US Government is corrupt (maybe) with a string of unsupported 'facts' from 'unknown' sources. Not actually anything to do with vaccination, but they seem quite happy to promote any conspiracy theories they are introduced to. Think Whale.to with a big video!
People VINE like to quote from:
VINE is full of out-of-context quotes from a variety of famous people including Mark Twain, John Lennon, Ghandi, Groucho Marx, Thomas Jefferson etc. none of whom have ever expressed opposition to vaccination.
VINE's 'professionals' that they quote from:
Dr. Tim O'Shea DC: As we have already discussed, Dr. O'Shea is a Chiropodist (foot expert)
Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride: An actual 'proper' doctor who has a masters degree in neurology, and a post-grad master in human nutrition. I approve of this woman (Her GAPS diet is a bit extreme and borders on anorexic behaviour, but that isn't relevant here). Unfortunately for VINE, there are no comments made by the lady herself that she supports antivaccine movements, she just wants to promote better health and is aware that many autistic spectrum children have gut problems (common medical knowledge) and this can be helped through better diet. that is all she claims. No 'do not vaccinate', or 'vaccines cause autism'.. just eat healthy!
Dr Lawrence B Palevsky MD: Is a qualified Pediatrician. But now focuses on Holistic approaches to medicine in his private practise in Manhattan. DOES NOT DISAGREE WITH VACCINES!! but as any good doctor should, recommends they (like any drug) should only be use when safe and necessary
Dr Sherri Tenpenny: An Osteopath (Bone Specialist in simple terms) is a strong advocater of choice and freedom to refuse vaccines. Dr Tenpenny has not practised medicine in the last 16 years (since 1996) but has instead followed a holistic path. She is not, nor has ever been an expert in infectious disease, or it's treatment.
Christina England: Is a London based freelance journalist with no medical training who writes independent, unsourced articles for quality websites such a Whale.to and the AmericanChronicle (discussed above). She specialises in allegations of childcare abuse (she was charged with abusing her two adopted children.. but charges were dropped).
Dr Viera Schreibner: is a retired micropaleontologist (geologist). Dr Schreibner did attend medical school, but dropped out within the first year. known not to use scientific methods in her accusations.. there are many concerns over the validity of the qualifications she does have. She has never been an expert on vaccines, or the human body.. just a supporter of the antivaccine movement.
Dr Rauni-Leena Luukanen-Kilde: A Finnish physician (who practised medicine for only 18 years). Is a strong supporter of Alien Abductions, Close Encounters, Mind Control, Cybernetics being in use, secret government microchips that track our every movement... you kinda get the idea (In England, we call it bonkers).
Dr Eva Snead: (Dec'd) Not a lot can be found out about this woman other than there are numerous quotes she has apparently said (no evidence to support her quotes tho) and the fact that she repeatedly had her license to practise removed. She also insisted that HIV/AIDS was a weapon created by the military.
Dr Robert S. Mendelsohn: (Dec's) Here is another Pediatrician, who did not specialise in vaccines or disease. Mendelsohn criticised pretty much everything, and everyone.. including holistic practitioners.
Dr Suzanne Humphries: A nephrologist (kidney specialist) practised medicine for 19 years before moving to homoeopathic and holistic treatments. Like Erwin Alber, She believes that her lack of specialist knowledge if the area of vaccination makes her an expert. Really, I'm not making this up... it's all just information (most of it by the actual person themselves!). Although she recommends that everyone should avoid conventional medicine at all costs, she still practices as a nephrologist. (obviously quackery doesn't pay the bills... which is surprising when they charge £20 for a bottle of 'magic' water).
Dr Russell Blaylock: A retired Neurosurgeon. Although he claims himself to be an expert on the H1N1 flu vaccine, Aspartame-linked cancer, MSG-linked cancer (monosodium glutamate), flourinated water and toothpaste and aluminium cookware, he has never had any training in any of these areas to confirm his status as an expert.
Dr Joseph Mercola: Although a member of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, Dr Mercola considers the use of vaccines, drugs and surgery to be a waste of time. Mercola has not practiced since 2005 as he now devotes his time to writing articles on his website (often criticised for never providing any evidence of his claims). Before 2005, Mercola was a family doctor.
Well, that was a rather considerable amount of text, so here are some images from VINE's page:
Erwin's life changing experience was a YouTube video!
No, he can't offer medical advice... but he does!
and is not open to people who are trained experts
Maybe 499 people realised that there is no evidence, nor
actual data to support anything they say?
Their answers always reveal a lack and willingness to accept knowledge and information. They are not experts, it's natural for THEM not to know what you're talking about.
Trust me... med students study vaccines for a lot more than a few hours.. they train for FIVE years before even being let loose on a ward... try several months! Med students HAVE to know about vaccines... this is just being naive, or stupid!
Erwin, the self proclaimed 'unqualified' expert is now a chemist? He has no training!
Erwin, not a doctor, not a chemist, has no training, is not an expert!
This is plain and simple nonsense! with nothing to even remotely support it.
That's pretty much how VINE operate.. when they can't prove their argument, they lie!
They make up stuff that isn't true!.. and then criticise people for doing exactly the same thing.
Yes it can give migraines, but focusing on Aspartame causing cancer... there was a study which supported that, but as they never do any research, they obviously do not know that the researchers said that the amount of aspartame required would be equivalent to a double decker bus, per person, per dose!
Too bad this article takes you to a blog, which takes you to a blog, which takes you to a blog, which takes you to a blog... and when you eventually do get to the final report... they do not give you access to the freedom of information data obtained!.... is it because it's a secret?
Another example of Erwin's fascination with anything conspiracy related.
Yes there is doubt... because there has never been any epidemiological data provided through a study which identifies such a link... just correlations at best!
An example of the sick minded propaganda in which they actively support.
Too bad the only evidence there is of this... is someone saying it!
There is no proof... if they believe it, why not do something useful and find the evidence to prove it?... because VINE do no research (unless it involves videos)
There was a contaminated batch.. manufacturing wasn't perfect then, that was not Jonas Salk's fault.
But if anyone thinks the polio vaccine did more harm than good, please have a look at my polio entry which debunks every single theory on the VINE page.
This is Erwin, god know's how many deaths he has been, or will be responsible for
